Secret Vampire (Night World Series #1) by LJ Smith

Review:- This is a typical story of hidden true love. James & Poppy have been best friends forever, both are in love with the other, unknown to the other. This is a very basic teens story but it does tug at the heart strings but it's a short and light read and it's very predictable. It's not unique in any way but the only thing I really liked about this particular book is that it captures the innocence of true and first love, which happens to be the same in this book. There is a suspenseful part towards the end but this is short lived. So don't expect too much from this book it's simply a guilty pleasure with lots of cliches.

I can't remember the series, but I think it has a vampire theme. Heard it's better than this one.
LJ Smith also writes the Vampire Diaries which is about a love triangle between two Vampire brothers and one human girl...didn't really like that one and gave up after the first one.
The Nightworld Series isn't about one particular set of characters. For example this one is about James and Poppy but Ash, James' cousin shows up causing trouble. Then the 2nd book is about Ash and his sister, 3rd book is about Ash and James' cousins. So whilst the characters interweave together, it's not about one set of characters, not an ongoing story so to speak.
