Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature newly hosted by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl. If you'd like to participate click here for future topics, and list away! If you are participating please leave a link to your post in the comments below so I can also check out your Top Ten!

Top Ten Non-Popular Authors

There are so many Authors that write brilliant books but just don't get so popular that their name becomes a household name, so I thought I'd share some amazing Authors in hope that maybe it'll shine a little bit of a spotlight on their great books. Check them out, you may find your next fave Author by just doing so.

  1. Kristin Bailey - I really enjoyed The Secret Order Trilogy. Here's my review of book 1; The Legacy of Clockwork Key here. Check out her other books here.
  2. M. Beth Bloom - I really enjoyed "Don't Ever Change" check out my review.
  3. Kris Dinnison - You and Me and Him was great. Here was an interview I did with the Author regarding this book.
  4. C.J. Duggan - She writes Contemporary YA books. My review of The Boys of Summer which is book 1 to her Summer series.
  5. Lindsay Emory - Sisterhood is a Deadly. Here's a link to my review and guest post.
  6. Jeff Gunhus - Writes Middle Grade books, but I thoroughly enjoyed his series'. Check out my blog for reviews of a few of his books.
  7. J.A. Huss - I enjoyed reading Manic.
  8. Cameron Jace - I absolutely loved "I Am Alive." He also does some retelling of fairy tales but "I Am Alive" has really stuck to me, it nearly has the vibe of Divergent.
  9. Stacey Kennedy - I loved The Cat's Meow and actually gave it 5 stars! Check out my review here.
  10. Skyla Madi - An Australian Author and most of her books on Goodreads are actually quite high rating. I read the first book in The Guardian series. Here's my review and more info on the consecutive books in the series.
Hope you enjoyed my Top Ten, I just like to showcase less known Authors, as there are some gems to be found, it's just hard to find Authors that are not household names, but some of the Indi Authors I have found have been fantastic, hope you find some of these Authors interesting enough to check out their books! Enjoy, if you have heard of some of the Authors above, let me know in the comments and let me know which of their books you enjoyed.

"But you like him, right?"

"Yes, Kit, I like him. But I'm in no rush to start a relationship, especially when we're so close to finding Kara. The need to be with both my sisters is consuming me. We need our power back."

"My father once told me that I should let my sisters imagine a better life - a better world. And I told him that there was no such thing." I ran my thumb over his mouth, marveling, and shook my head. "I never understood - because I couldn't...couldn't believe that it was even possible." I swallowed, lowering my hand. "Until now."

Elliot and I don't say anything after that; I just sort of lean forward and slump my chest on his back, my head on his shoulder. This isn't like a love story really, because no one's in love yet, but it is a sad story because maybe we could've been in love if there'd only been more time. I also don't have enough details yet to tell the story and for a character to fall for someone this fast won't seem real or realistic and then Mr. Roush will think I'm still a fake.

Don't Ever Change

by M. Beth Bloom

Expected Publication Date: July 7, 2015
Publisher: Harper Teen
Genre: YA Contemporary

Eva has always wanted to write a modern classic—one that actually appeals to her generation. The only problem is that she has realized she can't "write what she knows" because she hasn't yet begun to live. So before heading off to college, Eva is determined to get a life worth writing about.

Soon Eva's life encounters a few unexpected plot twists. She becomes a counselor at a nearby summer camp—a job she is completely unqualified for. She starts growing apart from her best friends before they've even left for school. And most surprising of all, she begins to fall for the last guy she would have ever imagined. But no matter the roadblocks, or writer's blocks, it is all up to Eva to figure out how she wants this chapter in her story to end.

Perfect for fans of E. Lockhart, David Levithan, and Rainbow Rowell, Don't Ever Change is a witty, snarky, and thought-provoking coming-of-age young adult novel about a teen who sets out to write better fiction and, ultimately, discovers the truth about herself.

I feel crazy. I've gone crazy.

I'm nothing but a bundle of contradictions made electric by feelings too big for my body, for my heart, for my mind.

I want all this to go away.

I want that body to disappear.

Then the slightest bit of movement.

Ruthless

by Carolyn Lee Adams

Expected Publication Date: July 14, 2015
Publisher: Simon Pulse

A spine-tingling debut about the ultimate game of cat-and-mouse in reverse as a teen struggles to retain hope—and her sanity—while on the run from a cunning and determined killer.

Ruth Carver has always competed like her life depends on it. Ambitious. Tough. Maybe even mean. It’s no wonder people call her Ruthless.

When she wakes up with a concussion in the bed of a moving pickup trick, she realizes she has been entered into a contest she can’t afford to lose.

At a remote, rotting cabin deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Ruth’s blindfold comes off and she comes face-to-face with her captor. A man who believes his mission is to punish bad girls like Ruth. A man who has done this six times before.

The other girls were never heard from again, but Ruth won’t go down easy. She escapes into the wilderness, but her hunter is close at her heels. That’s when the real battle begins. That’s when Ruth must decides just how far she’ll go in order to survive.

Back home, they called her Ruthless. They had no idea just how right they were.

Teaser + Top Ten Tuesday #28 ~ Books Read so far in 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke & The Bookish

I wasn't that thrilled with this week's topic as I've only gotten out of my reading rut in May, so you may wonder why all the books I've mentioned on this list have been "recent" books...so that's why. Looking forward to checking out what everyone else's 2015 picks are.

Please make sure you leave your linky on the comments section so I can come for a blog visit and check out your Top Ten list and/or your teasers which I LOVE checking out! Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week...

Some people have to wait their whole lives for great love. Some people find it when they're too young to know what to do with it. I don't know if one is easier than the other, but I do know that whenever you find it, if you have it in you to keep trying, you might actually get a second, and third, and fourth chance to get it right.
