Frey and Rafi are inseparable . . . but very few people have ever seen them together. This is because Frey is Rafi’s double, raised in the shadows of their rich father’s fortress. While Rafi has been taught to charm, Frey has been taught to kill. Frey only exists to protect her sister. There is no other part of her life. Frey has never been out in the world on her own – until her father sends her in Rafi’s place to act as collateral for a dangerous deal. Everyone thinks she’s her sister – but Col, the son of a rival leader, is starting to get close enough to tell the difference. As the stakes grow higher and higher, Frey must decide whether she can trust him – or anyone in her life.

Like all Scott Westerfeld books, this novel was heart pumping, twists you won't guess, characters created to perfection, unknown and unstable world and so much ACTION! If you loved the Uglies' series like I did, this is a MUST READ!
Impostors is exactly what you would expect and love from a Scott Westerfeld novel; exciting, thrilling with a vivid world creation.
I am a huge fan of Scott's Uglies series, in my opinion, it's one of the original dystopian series, so when I found out that they are revisiting the world with 4 more books, I was beyond excited, and this didn't disappoint.
Impostors follow two sisters; Frey the secret daughter who's sole purpose is to stand in for her twin when the events are dangerous, trained to kill and always in the shadows...the disposable daughter.
Rafi is the poster child of their Father's regime, the princess of Shreve.
When their Father sends Frey in Rafi's stead to enemy territory as a policy insurance, things start to get wild and interesting. For the first time ever, Rafi is the one hidden whilst Frey is flaunted to the public. Then their Father makes a call that no one saw coming, and their lives are forever changed as they know it.
Westerfeld's characters are always so well written. Their humanly perfect and well fleshed out. It's not only the main characters that have it's readers engaged, it's all his characters, no matter how small a part they play, they evoke some type of emotion from it's readers. I think that's when you know when an Author is hitting the mark. There were characters that were only there for a few pages, but I found myself cheering for them and wanting to get to know them more, such is Scott Westerfeld's characters.
We're going to fight beside each other, maybe for a long time. This war seems endless, and we're only at the start.
The world creation in all Westerfeld books are always well written. Impostors was somewhat different in that it didn't dive too much into the why, what and how of it's world, and despite the fact that you can read this book without having read the Uglies series, I still highly recommend it so that you can get a background on the world, as it was only slightly touched on in this novel.
As all Westerfeld stories this was action packed and such a thrilling ride. The realistic and amazing characters, the great plot with surprising twists, and the imaginative world is brilliant. I loved the Uglies' series and can't wait to delve into this world some more, this was definitely worth the anticipation for me, and can't wait to get all 4 books...the wait will definitely pain me.
