Challenge Schedule

Monday

1. Which book you are most excited to read in the coming year? It can be already released or coming soon.

There are literally hundreds of books I want to read both released and soon to be released. However, for the purpose of this challenge I'm going to list sequels to series I've started because I'm just dying to read the next book in the following series:-
  1. Cold Spell (Fairytale Retellings #4) by Jackson Pearce
  2. Rise of the Arcane Fire (The Secret Order #2) by Kristin Bailey
  3. Taste of Darkness (Healer #3) by Maria V Snyder
  4. Born of Deception (Born of Illusion #2) by Teri Brown
  5. Once We Were (Hybrid Chronicles #2) by Kat Zhang

2. Which book would you re-read if you had the time and weren't so busy reading ALL of the other good thing?

Definitely favourite series', all of the following I've got in box sets, so it's definitely ones that I plan to re-read:-

  1. Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling
  2. Lord of the Rings series by Tolkien
  3. Anne of Green Gables series by LM Montgomery.

3. If you could meet any fictional character who would it be and why?

It'd be a toss up between Evie from Paranormalcy by Kiersten White or Katarina Bishop from Heist Society by Ally Carter. I just feel like if I met either of these characters we'd hit it off and fast become BFF's. They are sarcastic, funny and kick-ass.

I participated in this challenge, my comment can be found here, username: Nikkilodean19

Tuesday

You're in a bookstore and you've just purchased 5 books you've been dying to read, when the apocalypse hits. (Zombie, Demons, Vampires, Dean Winchester vs. Sam Winchester (yes, I'm watching Supernatural reruns) I don't care what apocalypse). You've got one chance at survival, what 2 books do you take and what 3 other items do you take?

I wasn't going to answer this in a practical way but I just realised it was actually noted that it's a survival thing so I've changed my answers accordingly. My answers would have been very different if I didn't have to be practical about the whole survival thing LOL

Books

Encyclopedia - So I can find EVERYTHING from which plants are edible, how to do certain things etc. which can be very useful when your in the wild with not many resources.

Bible - I chose the Bible because it's a book that can be read from cover to cover several times over and over and you won't get bored from it.

Other Items

3G iPad with Charger - A multi-purpose item. I can use it to communicate with people, essentially use it as a phone via apps, I can load all my ebooks on it and read from it, I can use the internet and Google things I need to know, use it as a journal to journal the events that are taking place, can be used as a camera, voice recorder, torch etc.

Weapon - A weapon of some sort to help protect myself and family and also for hunting purposes. I'm tossing up between a gun and a swiss-army knife, the latter seems more useful for the basic necessities as well like opening canned foods, first aid things etc. you can't exactly shoot a can when you want to eat the contents, but I think for the purpose of protection and hunting maybe something like a rifle would be better. After all you need something to shoot all those zombies that get in the way.

Special Camping All-in-one backpack - The ones with the included sleeping bag, the water bottle and other camping necessities all built into the backpack.

Wednesday

Rainy Day Ramblings

I participated in this Puzzle Challenge and entered the answers on the Rafflecopter form.

Dizneeee's World of Books

Note of warning: I struggle with choosing "favourites" so I'm going to choose the first "favourites" that pop into my mind.

Favourite Genre: Young Adult Dystopia
Favourite Book from YA Dystopia: Uglies Series by Scott Westerfeld
Favourite Character from YA Dystopia: Tris from Divergent

Goals

I just finished participating in the Summer Lovin Read-a-thon and did terribly in the reading department...I know, that kind of defeats the purpose of a read-a-thon. The last week I've been suffering a terrible flu so I was in a bit of a reading slump and was jumping from book to book as nothing was holding my interest or attention. So since I'm now in recovery mode and I'm not working for 2 of the 3 days of this Read-a-thon I'm hoping to redeem myself.

  • Participate in at least 3 challenges
  • Finish at least 2 books I'm currently reading

Ink had a bit of a shaky start, but I thought it wasn't bad overall :) Innocent Darkness was quite good. Hopefully you'll reach your goals! Happy reading!

Angelica, thanks for stopping by. :)

Hope you get better soon and have fun with your books. I'm still waiting for my copy of Ink to arrive so I can read it too.

Thanks for visiting my blog :)
I have re-read both HP AND Lord of the Rings this year ^^ It was totally worth it, they're so awesome ^^

I've been feeling the same way lately - and I didn't even have the flue to blame. Hope you're feeling better now, though. :)

And hope we both do a little bit better this time. Good luck!

Hi Angelica. Nice goals. I should break my down into a daily goal too. It seems a bit more realistic than planning to finish a certain number of books.
Katarina Bishop would be awesome to meet. I love her sarcastic wit.
Thank you for stopping by my post and best of luck with your goals. Hope that you are feeling substantially better.

I hope you read and enjoy Ink I have that one to read myself! I'm also really looking forward to Once We Were too. Good luck and happy reading!

Don't feel bad, I haven't read AT ALL today (okay, I read one page) but I did read 40% of a book late last night after the readathon started. Hopefully tomorrow I can read much more once my parents leave and head back home.
Good luck and thanks for participating!

Hey Angelica! Your answers are perfect. I think you would definitely survive and in this day and age, choosing two physical books, like and encyclopedia and the Bible, plus a tablet is an excellent answer!

Thanks for participating! I happen to agree that the Swiss Army Knife would be your best choice, because that can of food would be wasted if you shot it!

Damn I forgot camping backpack, all cool people have one. I'd steal it somewhere :) Also Bible and Encyclopedia would be hard to carry :D You know what we should make a deal once when apocalypse starts :) Great answers :)

An encyclopedia! DUH! I wouldn't have thought of it though!

I really like the cover for Speak Easy! Gonna have to go look at it on Goodreads! And an encyclopedia is a brilliant idea! I should've thought of that! Thanks for stopping by my post. Good luck reading!

Ahhh! I have a very difficult time listing my favorites, especially sticking to one genre. I had to make it difficult! :)

I loved The Uglies series! I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did, but I'm glad. I didn't read the 4th book, however. I was scared to see a different character after falling in love with the original ones.

Awesome job! I love Evie and Kat too. Great choices! The cover on Ink is really neat and I have heard good things about it.

I like your practical apocalypse choices! I didn't end up doing that challenge because I got way too serious about it and was verging on writing a full survival checklist... I thought I was probably better off leaving it alone at that point. ;)
