Friday Hop

I'm so glad that Billy from Coffee Addicted Writer picked up this blog hop as it was really enjoyable when Jennifer from Crazy-for-Books created it. When I first started blogging I was participating in this hop and so glad to welcome it back to my weekly meme fun! This week's question:-

What is your favourite trilogy (series)?

I'm on a trio hype lately, so I'll give the three series/trilogy that first comes to mind. I don't really have "favourites", once I love a series I love it, I can't really choose between two series' that I love, hence the difficulty in answering "favourite" type of questions. However, three series' that came to mind were:-

  1. Wings Series by Aprilynne Pike
  2. The Cahill Witch Chronicles by Jessica Spotswood
  3. Books of Faerie by Maggie Stiefvater

Now to this week's question…I'm a person that must persevere with the series if I've read more than one book from the series. The only time I've "broken up" with a series is if I read the first book and it just doesn't interest me, then I don't read the sequels. There are books that I've read the first book of, and haven't picked up the sequels but I do plan to eventually.

There's only one book I can think of, that I've read that I don't intend to pickup the remaining books from the trilogy and that's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I persevered with this book, but I just can't put myself through reading the sequels after that first ordeal.

I don't break up with a lot of books, but you know the ones that I did break up with. I hated Everneath because Nikki is a crap heroine who whined and complained the entire book, and always had to get what SHE wanted, never caring about the welfare of others.

I've never read the trilogy you mentioned - and I probably won't.

I haven't read that one, and really didn't want to for some reason. I found out a lot about what it was about and knew it probably wasn't a book for me. I agree that it's so hard to just give up on a series, but it does happen on occasion. Thank you so much for stopping by my FF. Old follower :D Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.

Wow I take my hat off to you! If I don't like the 1st in a series there is a 90% chance that I won't even think of continuing with the series! In fact my break up list is so long I'm starting to think that maybe I'm some kind of book floozie! lol

You've picked three GREAT series, and I want to read them all!! I already have so many terrific books to read, and now I have even more!

I can imagine that "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" was an ordeal to read. Although I haven't read it, I do know that the story is full of horrible events. So I'm definitely not interested in it, or in the sequels!

Thanks for visiting my blog, and commenting on my BBH post!! :)

Oy, I was hoping for some new suggestions, but all 3 were YA... *bangs head on desk* The one genre I just can't seem to come to terms with. Ah, well, I am glad to see that you are enjoying them. :)

Someone answered this trilogy too! I've had this in my room but haven't started it. Now I'm thinking whether I should actually read it or not!

If I've devoted myself to more than the first book, then I like to see the series all the way to the end. It has to get pretty bad before I call it quits and then I second (and third) guess my decision. I mean, what if the ending pulls it all together and I never know? Thanks for visiting me this week!

None of the books after The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo were as good as the first one, but they did get more intense.

Thanks for stopping by my FF! Followed back via GFC and bloglovin :)
