Weekly Wrap-Up

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kim @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Life Beyond Books

With such a busy June, it's nice to be a bit more laid back. This week has just been a week of catching up with errands and trying to get the house cleaned up (so much more to do). So not much blogging and not much reading either. I've been so busy checking others blogs and Instagram and Youtube accounts, but I myself, haven't wanted to read πŸ˜“ Curious to know, which books got you out of a reading slump?

Around the Blogosphere

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!  Will also be linking up to Mailbox Monday. All books are linked to Goodreads, if you want to add to your shelf.

I won 2 Facebook giveaways! Thank you so much Allen & Unwin for choosing me as winners for In Search of Us by Ava Dellaira and Sunflowers in February by Phyllida Shrimpton. Such beautiful covers and can't wait to read these. Has anyone else read any of these books? What are your thoughts?

Better late than never...I finally got myself a copy of Furyborn by Claire Legrand.

I also loved The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey but haven't had the chance to read the following books in the series, so I got myself a box set.

Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week's Question?

If you were stranded on a deserted island, which ONE book could you not live without?

Wow, are you guys suggesting we go to hell, cos it certainly sounds like your telling me to pick ONE book for the rest of my life πŸ˜–

I'd have to say if I could only take one ITEM, it'd have to be my Kindle loaded to the max with books for my stay in hell deserted island.

If I was allowed one SERIES it'd have to be Harry Potter.

However, if it must be one BOOK, I think I would go for the bible. Here is why I chose the bible over any other book:-

  • It has more than one story
  • It's long
  • Once you read the entire bible once you probably can't recall half of those stories, so it's good for re-reads
  • I'll need some faith on a deserted island with one book, so the bible will cater to those needs
  • It has many stories of people surviving in pretty bad situations so it could also help me in providing information on how to survive on a deserted island and motivation. I'm sure the bible has parts about fishing, hunting and gathering, so I'm sure I can find some tips and tricks on how to feed myself on a deserted island.
My other choice would've been The Lord of the Rings Compilation with all the books in the series in one tome.

(Suggested by Megan @ Ginger Mom & The Kindle Quest )

I'm so interested to know what everyone's choice are for their ONE book? It's an extremely daunting thought, but I'm curious nonetheless. Also, how has your week been? Link below so I can visit and say hello! Till next week...
